Frequently Asked Questions

  • We schedule group sessions based on what works best for most people. If you are not available for a particular group, we will give you a call when we are scheduling a group that works for your schedule!

  • Group sessions will take place at 1 of 4 locations - in Cambridge at the Cambridge YWCA, or in Roxbury at either the Edward L. Cooper Community Garden and Education Center, The Wellness Collaborative (TWC), or Vine Street Community Center. The location of your group session will be determined by both where you are comfortable travelling to and when the next group session begins. To learn more about these locations click [HERE]

  • We offer makeup sessions if there is a major time conflict. We schedule them for 30 minutes before your next group session.

  • Everyone is free to contact our research team if they are interested in learning more! They can call one of our research coordinators, Denise, directly at 617-726-1199 or email us at mghhabitstudy@mgb.org.

  • Our study watches only track how many steps you take and how long you wear it. It does not track location or any other information (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.).

  • Participants are asked to wear the smartwatch 3 times: for one week before the program starts, for one week right after the program ends, and for one week 6 months after the program ends. We ask that participants wear the watch as much as possible.
